C.A. van Aswegen has edited more than 31 local and international productions and graduated cum laude in Motion Picture Medium in his honours year at AFDA in Johannesburg.
After university, C.A. began his career as editor in short format productions and after more than 150 advertisements and many celebrated music videos, he shifted his focus to long-format narrative.
Having won awards for several TV series he worked on as well as various highly acclaimed feature films and documentaries, including a series about the life of Nelson Mandela, C.A. cemented his reputation in the South African film industry.
In 2016, he won the international AMAA Award for Editing for the film, Hear Me Move. He has been nominated six times for the SAFTA award for his editing of, among others, the films Roepman, Fatherland and Die Ongelooflike Avonture van Hanna Hoekom.
A few of his more well-known projects include the films Vir Die Voëls, Vir Altyd, Ballade vir ’n Enkeling, Pad Na Jou Hart, Klein Karoo, The Owner, Night Drive, Bakgat!, Ouma se Slim Kind and Noem My Skollie.
C.A. is a fully accredited member of the South African Guild of Editors.
