Armand Aucamp

Armand is an actor working out of Cape Town and Johannesburg. He graduated from City Varsity School of Media and Creative Arts in 2009 at the top of his class. Since then he has worked in TV, film, theatre and radio. Over the past eight years, Armand has worked extensively locally and abroad. His TV credentials include Sterlopers Seasons 1 & 2, Pandjiewinkelstories, Hard Copy Season 4, HBO’s Homeland Season 4, BETtv’s Madiba as well as the CBC six-part mini-series, The Book of Negros, starring Cuba Gooding Jr, which was filmed in Cape Town and Canada.

He’ss also worked on a number of international feature films including Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Chronicle, Mankind and Gavin Hood’s Eye in the Sky.

Locally, he worked on feature films such as Knysna and Die Ontwaking as well as the critically acclaimed short film, Almon, Henry, in which he starred alongside Nataniël. Armand also gained critical success in the box-office hit Ballade vir ’n Enkeling, instantly making him a household name. The success of the hit TV show, Die Boekklub Seasons 1 & 2, further cemented Armand’s reputation as one of South Africa’s favourite leading men.

He recently starred in the local biopic Krotoa in the role of Jan van Riebeeck – the film garnered substantial international recognition and has scooped up eight international film festival awards to date.

Armand played a starring role in the television action drama series Knapsekêrels, and he has roles in two feature films set for release in 2018, namely Stroomop, produced by the acclaimed writing and producing team, Donnalee Roberts and Ivan Botha, as well as The Furnace, written and directed by Oscar-nominated director, Darryl Roodt.
