Ilse Klink

Ilse is a well-known and loved South African actor. She has been seen in a wide variety of productions on stage, on television and on the big screen. She is best known for her role as Vanessa Booysens in Isidingo, for which she won an Avanti Award in 2000. Ilse also won a Naledi Award for her performance in the musical Big Bang Blast, and she was also nominated for a Naledi Award for her performance in The Amen Corner at the Market Theatre. Her most recent work, Scorched, in which she played an activist, earned her the 2017 Naledi Award for Best Actress. Kristalvlakte, based on Brecht’s Mother Courage, also saw Ilse walk away with the 2017 Fiësta Award for Best Actress.

Ilse received a Fleur du Cap Nomination for playing Mamma Morton in Chicago; she has vast experience in musicals. She’s been in Janice Honeyman’s lavish Showboat, Menopause The Musical and Rent. In 2010 she was seen in Sisters in Song as well as the stage production of Mamma Mia in the role of Rosie. Prior to that, she was Vicky in The Full Monty and Jaci de Villiers and Tina in Does My Bum Wobble? Other theatre productions include playing Wolf in Gina Shmukler’s Brer Rabbit and Katie in Stuur Groete.

Ilse has recently been a lead in the television show Roer Jou Voete and has also had sizeable roles in Telenovela Inkaba (on Mzanai Magic), as well as the soaps Villa Rosa and 7de Laan.

Ilse will be seen in the movie, The Path, in the near future.
